I am thinking ahead for the year and planning in my mind. I have feel like I have really good classroom management, but I know you can always get better! I'm thinking or doing "Bucket Fillers" this year. I want to know who has used it and their thoughts and advice about it.
I used bucket fillers last year & it was a great program. It was hard to fit in at times so you might want to set aside a little time 1 day a week or a certain time each day to do it. My kids would try to go up there whenever they wanted & that wasn't working. I made sure that everyone's bucket was filled before anyone filled a bucket multiple times. Overall my students loved it & it was a positive program. :)

Learning Is Something to Treasure
I used it! I loved it :) It wasn't a MAIN point of behavior management though. It definitely did not work to have students "fill buckets" whenever they pleased. I used a writing format where they had to fill out slips of paper to say why they were filling the person's bucket. They would go week without doing it. Then I'd remind them... and they wouldn't get work done because they were doing it. I ended up picking random days to lay a bucket filler slip on their desk with a notecard that had a student's name on it. They had to come up with a reason to fill that person's bucket. We did this a lot when "bullying" issues arose and the kids seemed to like it. They got grumpy when they got a name "they didn't like," but they LOVED reading the responses from the people they didn't expect. It really helped create a class community.... so much so that my teacher asked me to loop with them! Woohoo :)
