Friday Five and Freebie

Happy Friday!  It is time to share a little of my week with you and I get to learn a little bit more about my favorite bloggers.  I love the Five for Friday linky party at Doodlebugs Teaching.  She is taking the month of July off and will be back the first week of August.

I just posted on my collaborative blog.  It is a fantastic blog full of great post from some of the best teacher bloggers.  If you haven't had a chance to check it out, please stop by.

Teaching Blog Roundup

2. Books!
I am loving books!  I have taken a little time to read the latest book by Bell Andre.  (It is a steamy romance and a great summer read.)  I picked up a collection of my favorite childhood books!  Didn't you love these too?

Then I picked up my TE's for my new reading series next year.  I can't wait to dig into this!

3. Look What My Daughter Gave Me!
My youngest daughter loves Legos.  I love the new pencil holder she made me for my classroom next year.  She found the kit at the Lego store.

4. My New Behavior Management System
I have finished my behavior management system for next year.  I was originally planning to bundle all of my new stuff for my Lego theme together but got overwhelmed.  So I figured I will post the parts of it as I finish them and then bundle them together.  You can check it out in my TpT store.

5. A Friday Freebie
I am busy creating and switching my room theme over to Lego building bricks.  Here is a poster I just made.  Click here to grab it free!

Bloglovin'

I know most of you have probably already discovered Bloglovin', but I just joined!  I am lovin' how easy it is!  Bloglovin' is a great way to catch up on all of your favorite blogs all in one place.  It is also a great way for people to follow your blog.  Google Reader will be ending soon, so this is a great way to follow your favorites now.  It was so easy, it even imported all of the blogs I followed with Google Reader for me.  Check it out if you haven't already!

Five for Friday

Woo Hoo!  It is Friday!!!  (I am doing the happy dance at this very moment!)  It isn't even a work week and I am still super excited for Friday!  Here is why...

1.  My House is Getting Cleaned!
The best part is, I'm not the one doing it!  I have finally broken down and am paying someone to come in and do a deep clean and then to clean it every other week.  I am horrible at cleaning and my house shows it.  I remember as a child my mom had someone clean the house, but we use to always have to clean it up first.  (i.e. just pick up our stuff)  I can remember complaining every time "why do I have to clean for the cleaning lady to come, that is so dumb!"  Well guess what my kids are doing right now!  I can not wait to come home to a clean house!

2.  Girls Get-a-way!
I am leaving tonight for a one-night get-a-way with one of my best girlfriends.  I so need this break, I just wish it was longer.  We are going over to Florida's west cost for a meet and greet with one of my friends favorite adult authors, Karen Moning.  I just wish it was for more than one night!  Now if only my husband and kids can keep the clean house clean for a night so I can see it...

3.  A Supermoon!

This weekend is a supermoon!  It will be the closest to Earth Saturday and Sunday this weekend.  I am going down to the beach to see it rise.  My Mom and sister will be visiting too and I think they will enjoy it as well.  We are picking up dinner and taking it down to eat while we watch the moon rise.  I am not much on seeing the sunrise, way to early for me, but all about the moonrise!

4.  Still loving my office!

I am still loving working at my new space!  Even more unbelievable is that it is still neat and organized.  I have also been much more productive as well.

5.  Revenge

This show is having a serious impact on my productivity!  (It is like they days when I discovered Downtown Abbey.)  I had seen maybe one random show in the past.  I started back with episode 1 on Netflix.  I love it!  There are no commercials and I don't have to wait a week for the next show.  This can be very bad.  I try to work a little while I am watching it.  My hubby thinks I am crazy when I crawl in bed with my iPad and earbuds...  It use to be reading or CandyCrush, now it is Revenge.  I have traded one time waster/ addiction for another.  My guess is this will last until I finish the rest of season 1 and all of season 2.  I need to make myself ride the stationary bike while I watch it.

Now another time waster I enjoy to is learning more about all of my blogging buddies from their Friday Five.

Manic Monday

You have to love summer Mondays!  Although I admit I slept in a late and feel a little guilty for wasting a few hours today.  I figure I can just stay up late today to make up for it.

I don't know about you, but my summer to-do list is huge!  I want to do so much and know time will slip away.  I have everything I want to accomplish in my head, I need to make my list and tackle it!  I have things I need to do for home, family school, blogging, friends and (I know I am forgetting something....) ME!  I need to figure out how to get ME a little bit higher on my list.  I did make a few doctors appointments today and am planning to go to the gym.  (I should have done that this morning before anything else.)

Today I am working on things for my new classroom theme.  I can't wait to share them with you.  In the meantime I needed a little something extra for my new workspace.  I made this poster and thought I would share.  Click here if you would like to grab it free.

What a Mess and New Space!

I can't believe they last time I blogged was 15 days ago!  It has been crazy and I have several huge messes!  The first mess I had to tackle was moving my classroom.  This took forever!  My two wonderful girls helped so much by taking the loads down to my new room.  However, they pretty much just dumped it in the middle of my new classroom. I finally managed to get everything moved to my new room and then I had this huge mess to deal with!

In the middle of this entire process, we had to go meet family visiting in Orlando for 5 days.  So after getting back from Orlando this is what I came back to.  I had to push everything to the sides and put it away so the floors could be cleaned this summer.  This took another 2 days.  During this process I stacked all of my empty containers in one area of the room.  By doing this, I discovered that not only do I have a problem with too much stuff I also have a problem with too many containers!  I did manage to get it ready for cleaning and now I have to wait until August before I can get back in.  I hate that I can't get in to work in my room this summer.  I guess it does force me to take a break.  Can you work in your room over the summer?

Unfortunately, my classroom wasn't the only mess I have to deal with.  I have been neglecting my house with the end of school craziness!  In the past few months, I have been working on my laptop and blogging while sitting on my comfy couch.  I am much more productive when sitting at  desk.  I needed an office space of my own.  I have the perfect spot if I could just get to it!

I used to stamp and scrapbook quite a bit and my wonderful hubby made turned a closet in to a work area for me.  I don't have time to craft much anymore and the clutter had taken over my space.  So I started on my first declutter project of the summer!

I am so happy as I type this post in my new space!  I did it all myself, including re-surfacing my desktop with peel and stick wood flooring.  It was also cheap, I did it all for less than $70.  I can not wait to create in my fab new space!
As I finish this post at midnight, I just want to wish you a Happy Father's Day!  I hope you enjoy and celebrate all of those special Dad's in your life!

Currently June

It is June 1st !  Summer is here, but why am I still in school???  Let's be honest the kids were done Memorial Day.  I do like the last days of school, because you can spend time on the fun stuff!

I am linking up Farley at Oh' Boy 4th Grade for June Currently.  I love this linky, I always discover so many new blogs.

As you can see, I am very excited for summer vacation.  I do think I have more school work than I have days left???  In addition to the normal end of things, I am moving classrooms too!  (and I have soooo much stuff!)  I am trying really hart to purge.  My goal is at least a full trash bag everyday!)

Even though this year isn't quite over, I am already thinking about and planning for next year.  New math and reading series, new room, and going to a new theme!  Look for lots going on this summer!
